As our tagline says, we bring to our communities "youth driven change that matters." We pride ourselves on developing our future leaders by providing opportunities for today's youth to design, implement and lead their own service projects.
Teens are encouraged to seek out issues within their own community and to learn about those issues and their origins. Then they are given the opportunity to develop a program or special event that addresses those needs. We provide support every step of the way and encourage the youth to think "outside the box" in developing their ideas for a program or special event.
Today's youth are our future, and we need to provide for them every opportunity to take their future into their own hands and to institute change within their community and the world around them.
Service Corps
Service Corps is a group of Sussex County high school teens who interviewed with Pass Along to become part of a group effort to bring about change in their community and beyond.
This group meets on a regular basis to learn about issues in the world today and brainstorm together to find creative ways to improve circumstances in Sussex County.
They train to be leaders and mentors, they reflect on their volunteering experiences and they bond with the common goal of making the world a better place.
In this video, Brittany Jerkovich a recent graduate of Jefferson High School
and a former AmeriCorps member of Pass It Along,
explains what serving others means to her.
