Background
Pass It Along is a non-profit organization committed to helping teenagers become confident, resilient and compassionate through volunteerism, leadership and self-discovery. Pass It Along is the only organization in Northern New Jersey that solely targets teenagers, providing service learning as a part of each volunteer experience, enabling a one-on-one connection with the people teenagers are helping and delivering thought provoking self-discovery workshops. Pass It Along strives to provide teenagers with the tools and opportunities to discover and embrace themselves and their power to make a difference in the world, creating a society of self-aware, healthy and caring individuals. Pass It Along is based in Sussex County, NJ.
Job Summary
The Program Director will have a key role in program delivery.
The Program Director will lead the organization’s program policy, development, including oversight for leadership, volunteer, classroom and club programs to support PIA mission of building confident, resilient, compassionate teenagers through self-discovery, volunteer and leadership opportunities.
The Program Director will participate in providing strategic guidance and direction to PIA policy, cultivate partnerships and engagement opportunities with advocates and practitioners, and play a leadership role in designing new opportunities to keep PIA on the cutting edge.
The Program Director will perform a key role in expanding the organization's existing program work.
Responsibilities
Manage the development and delivery of Pass It Along’s leadership, calendar, volunteer and club programs.
Actively lead and participate in program delivery.
Supervise staff and contractors in program delivery.
Create a cohesive vision for programs and short-and long-term strategies for achieving that vision.
Conceptualize and oversee the development of data products, toolkits, and other resources to support program activities.
Collaborate with the other PIA staff and leadership to coordinate policy and practice activities for programs and across the broader organization.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors and with others in the organization to help craft the organization's broad strategic direction, operational plans and key decisions.
Manage and support the ongoing professional development of PIA Program staff
Qualifications
Previous experience working with teenagers/adolescents/non profit
A track record of successful program management with tangible results
Experience successfully advancing work through coalitions and cultivating partnerships
Ability to draft and deliver compelling written and verbal communication
Well-honed ability to execute and exhibit good judgment
Demonstrated experience leading, managing and developing people
